Refitted: The Island Star previously operated as the Horizon, a much loved ship within Celebrity Cruises' fleet. Following an extensive refit, it entered Island Cruises' fleet in 2006 and will be repositioned to
Brazil
following her first season in the
Mediterranean
.
Cabins: We've selected Outside cabins (only) as the price differential between these and Inside is very little. Cabins include en-suite, TV, telephone, radio, wardrobe and dressing table and are serviced by a steward or stewardess.
Food and Beverage: The Island Star has 5 restaurants, being the al fresco Grill, the (buffet style)
Island
and 24 hour Beachcomber Restaurants, and fine dining in the Oasis and Steak House. A number of bars and a nightclub provide plenty of opportunities to while away the time with friends.
Entertainment: Every night is "showtime" aboard the Island Star, with big (
West End
style) shows, stand up comedy acts and vibrant cabarets. And there's plenty of action elsewhere, with bars and even a casino.
Service Levels: The Island Cruise concept is for relaxed cruising where the Captain is an integral part of daily activities and with the crew being approachable at all times. This concept flows throughout the ship and creates for relaxed and happy cruising.
Customer Survey Results: Rated either Good or Excellent - Cruise Overall (96%), Cruise Ship (97%), Cruise Itinerary (97%), Friendliness of Crew (99%) and Evening Shows (92%).
